We spoke with the manager, Mr. Stefan De Smedt
Mr. De Smedt, could you briefly describe your company?
Our prepress consists of an Agfa Graphics :Acento S platesetter in combination with both conventional and :Sublima screening.
We have a Heidelberg Speedmaster 52 four-colour press with CIP3 link. This press is for 85% colour managed by the prepress, so that the printer only needs to fine tune the colour application via the Heidelberg Image control system.
A Xerox 424 is used for the production of flyers, invitations, posters and booklets in short run lengths.
An Epson 9900 digital inkjet printer is used for large format prints in excellent photo quality.
What are the strengths of your company?
Our strengths are flexibility, an attractive price-quality ratio, and short delivery times.
Our customers are other printers, hospitals, industrial companies, public authorities, schools and associations.
We keep investing in the latest technology, have a long-term vision and attach great importance to production speed and efficiency.
Why did you choose for :Apogee as workflow software?
For us, :Apogee stands for precision, quality and speed. Not only does it provide a better overview than other workflow systems, it also opens up perspectives, because we are planning to integrate JDF information into :Apogee.
What is your experience with :Apogee Impose?
:Apogee Impose ensures smooth imposition and quick start-up of the printing process.
We much appreciate the impositioning of multiple booklets. Our production uses exclusively :Apogee Impose, which ensures a smoother flow with fewer errors.
Is it important for you that :Apogee has certifications such as Fogra, CIP4, GWG…?
Of course, they are a guarantee for the future. The fact that Agfa Graphics is a Gold Partner with Adobe and Microsoft also inspires us with confidence.
What is your experience with digital printing?
We use a Xerox 424 and Epson 9900 mainly for shorter print runs. Both are driven by :Apogee.
Have you already used the ApogeeNetwork?
Yes, we are especially interested in contacts with other :Apogee users.
Does your company have a Web-to-print system?
The implementation of such a system is certainly on the cards because of the growing demand for web applications.
Are you satisfied with the service of Agfa Graphics?
Absolutely, in every respect.
