Increased plate production efficiency

Jim McBride, Technical Manager, refers to the recent installation of a new printing press at the company's Dundee site, "We have one main printing site in Dundee which is equipped with three plate production lines based on Advantage N-TR trolley-loaded CtP engines. The installation and start-up of the new equipment went smoothly and the total system proved to be very reliable. Needless to say this resulted in an operating cost saving and it allowed us to increase plate production efficiency drastically. The Advantage N-TR engines with on-line VXXP processors are capable of imaging up to 350 N91-V plates per hour. The high degree of reliability of these engines enables us to keep our two Goss offset presses running. For the time being we have average print runs of 200.000 to 300.000 however we intend to attract more contract printing jobs in order to keep our presses fully booked. We do appreciate the great service and excellent assistance from the Agfa Graphics team in this project and will continue to count on their support for future projects
