Die Keure

Optimizing print results with fountain solution additive FS404 ASH

The Die Keure nv group is specialized in educational, legal and economics publications and guarantees affordable, high quality design and printing. As one of the leaders within this sector, they are also responding to the increased demand for communication via digital media.

Die Keure works with a hi-tech offset printer with six presses and uses various reproduction technologies. The many art books with photo reportages and reproductions that have been produced up until now have made a remarkable impression. Printing is also done on a variety of synthetic media using silk-screen for applications such as promotional material, displays and stickers. Quality and service are the first priority here too. The products from Die Keure are highly praised by customers in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Great Britain and the United States.

Agfa Graphics is a supplier of print plates and prepress systems and is the ideal partner for improving the efficiency and guaranteeing the stable production of printed materials.
The close cooperation between the Agfa Graphics specialists and the operators at the printers has led to the improvement of the production conditions at the presses. On the basis of an extensive laboratory analysis the decision was made to use a different fountain solution additive. During this switchover, the ink/water balance at the various presses was also optimised, thus also achieving an improvement in start-up speeds and the stability of the printed materials. The new Prima FS404 ASH fountain solution additive has been specifically developed for printing with less IPA and is therefore also more environmentally friendly. The lower alcohol content of the fountain solution additive increases the colour rendering of the printing inks. As a result, the printing materials gain in strength of colour. This also has an additional positive effect on the stability of the production cycle. The two print managers, Johan De Cuyper and Jan De Souter, are very pleased with the improvement in start-up and stability, which are the result of excellent support from the Agfa specialists and the cooperation with their team.
